Telekom’s fiber optic expansion in Bernburg (Saale) is running at full speed. Mayor Dr. Silvia Ristow has now seen this for herself during a visit to the construction site. From the end of 2022, high-speed connections with up to 1,000 megabits per second (Mbit/s) will be available. Telekom is laying a total of around 116 kilometers of optical fiber and installing 96 new network distributors. This will benefit around 11,300 households.
However, residents must take action in good time to ensure that the expansion does not bypass their own houses or apartments. In this expansion project, the fiber optic cable no longer ends in the distribution box at the roadside, but has to be pulled into the building. To do this, we need the permission of the owner. Tenants can initiate this process by contacting us. Otherwise, the fiber optic cable will be routed past the house.
