Almost like a memorial…

Large parts of the Ems-Einkaufs-Centrum now demolished

Rheine. The remaining façade of the former Ems-Einkaufs-Centrum still stands and is to be preserved. Now that large parts of the building complex and the former shed halls of the textile factory have been demolished, an unusual view of the actual factory can be seen through the façade.

As reported by the Münsterländische Volkszeitung newspaper, the marketing company SQM (Münster) has already secured the following companies as tenants: Edeka, Aldi, Kik, Rossmann and Action. Further space will go to retailers, restaurants and services. The supra-regional city quarter is expected to reopen at the end of 2025.

A rare view of the former Kümpersfabrik. Now that the outbuildings have been demolished, the historic building can be seen in all its glory.
