Municipality Borne is making an appropriate environmental vision for Hertme, Zenderen and Borne. This environmental vision describes what we, together, think our living environment should look like. Therefore, this spring, during the Born Dreams Days, the inhabitants of municipality Borne gave their input, unique ideas and points for attention. The result of all these dreams is now bundled in an (online) booklet. This booklet can be found on the Born Dreams Days website.
Over eight hundred dreams now form the input for the Environmental Vision Borne. The municipality will now start working on it. In early 2024 discussions will take place with the city council on the various themes such as mobility, sustainability, cultural heritage, public space, etc. The results of these discussions will lead to a draft environmental vision after which the formal adoption procedure will begin. The Environmental Vision is a dynamic process and can be adjusted due to policy changes.
Environment Act
The Omgevingsvisie that the municipality of Borne is now making is a consequence of the Omgevingswet (Environment Act) that will come into force on January 1, 2024. This law was created to improve consistency in the approach to the living environment. Room for local customization and better and faster decision-making are important spearheads.
