Town twinning association continues to support children’s homes in Ukraine
Rheine. It is not huge sums that the town twinning association uses to support people in Ukraine. For the past two years, donations have been transferred specifically to children’s homes with which the association has now established close contacts.
These children’s homes primarily care for disabled or traumatized children, war orphans and other children affected by the war in their country.
Before Christmas, baking campaigns in homes in Odessa and Mykolayiv were financed with donations from Rheine. Without the money from the town twinning association, such events would not have been possible.
A few weeks ago, the Ruh Myloserda children’s home in Mykolayiv suggested a visit to the petting zoo with around 100 children to give them a little distraction from the war. The cost of transportation, admission and lunch for the little ones was estimated at 600 euros. The employees also wanted a printer for their office work.
For the boarding school and the sports school, they would like to purchase a total of five beanbags so that the children can simply relax.
The town twinning association has transferred 1000 euros from the donation account. As always, detailed accounts were submitted and photos sent. All accompanied by heartfelt thanks from Ukraine.
In the meantime, Odessa has requested that the therapy room in the children’s home be renovated. Here too, the association will be happy to provide support as soon as there is enough money in the donation account.
