Exhibition March 30 – May 18, 2025, Bentlage Monastery
- For over 25 years, the city of Rheine and the Dutch city of Borne have maintained a close partnership, which is reflected in numerous cultural, social and societal projects. The exhibition “NATURE!” – a cooperation between Bentlage Monastery and the Dutch cultural initiative “Stichting Culturel Podium Oude Bornse Synagoge” – was also created in this context, with three artists from the Netherlands presenting their works, all of which express a deep connection to nature:- Simone Zacharias creates a surreal, multi-layered world in her paintings, in which time and space dissolve. Abstract and concrete structures intermingle in an artistic intermediate realm – a fantastic garden that the artist explores on ever new painterly forays.- Gertjan Scholte-Albers works in the open air. With his handcart, loaded with easel, canvas and paints, he captures the moods of nature in expressive, powerful works. His paintings reflect the dynamics of nature – from calm moments to stormy drama – Jan van Strien expresses the beauty of the plant world in a unique way with his photographic floral compositions. As a florist, he draws his inspiration directly from nature and transforms it into impressive visual worlds. The exhibition will be shown in the barn of Bentlage Monastery and will be officially opened on March 30, 2025 at 3 p.m. Speakers at the opening:Fabian Lenz, Deputy Mayor of the City of Rheine Gerrit Musekamp, Director of Bentlage MonasteryArjan Reindering, Stichting Cultureel Podium Bornse Synagoge
