RheineThe jury headed by Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann has made its decision: This year’s citizens’ award winners have been announced. The people selected by the jury have rendered outstanding services to our society and to Rheine through their extraordinary voluntary commitment.
The following are delighted to have been recognized:
– Christa Berning, for her many years of service as honorary director of the Low German Stage
– Philipp Krüssel, for his commitment to the Elte volunteer fire department and the German Red Cross
– The Anti-Rust Initiative Rheine – Neuenkirchen – Wettringen, which supports people in need of help, especially the elderly, with small repairs and household-related services as part of a kind of neighborhood assistance program
– The “Café mit Herz” team, a regular breakfast service organized on a voluntary basis in the Ludgerusforum, the proceeds of which benefit social projects.
Since 1998, the Citizens’ Prize has been awarded to citizens who have made an exemplary voluntary contribution to our society for the benefit of others. The jury is made up of the mayor, his deputies and representatives of the council groups.
This year’s award ceremony will take place on December 1.
