Families with children can discover the secrets of salt production in the salt workshop and on the salt works site at Rheine. On Sunday, January 7 at 4.30 p.m., a torchlight tour for young and old starts at the salt boiling house, during which the graduation works and the historic boiling pans will be visited. In the special atmosphere of the evening hours, you can experience how laborious and adventurous the work of the salt boilers used to be, who often worked at night. After the guided tour, families can try their hand at boiling salt in small pans in the salt workshop and take their own salt home with them at the end. The program lasts approx. 1.5 hours, the participation fee is € 3 per person.
Please bring flashlights! As the number of participants is limited, we recommend registering with the municipal museums Rheine on 05971-939 711.
