Rheine. The 2023 Culture Prize was awarded to André Schaper last weekend. André Schaper received the award from Rheines Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann for his multifaceted commitment as a local historian, author and city guide as well as for the Stolpersteine campaign.
His commitment brings the town’s history to life. His voluntary work to come to terms with the crimes of National Socialism helps to ensure that the memory of this dark time does not fade.
He received the €2,500 culture prize for his commitment to Rheine.
