Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann took the baton for Days of Choir and Orchestra Music

Rheine. Rheines mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann and the chairman of the executive committee of the city savings bank Rheine, Thomas Prochmann, visited on past weekend on invitation of the city Dessau Rosslau (Saxonia-Anhalt) the days of the choir and orchestra music,. They were accompanied by Susanne Veltmann (Mayor’s office) and Klaus Dykstra (Head of Cultural Services of the city Rheine). Since Rheine will host next year, the baton was passed from the mayor there, Dr. Robert Reck, to Rheines mayor.

Next year’s event will then be held in Rheine from March 8-10. “I am very pleased that we were able to bring this highly sought-after and highly regarded event to Rheine,” said Mayor Dr. Lüttmann.

The Days of Choral and Orchestral Music (TCOM) are one of the most important celebrations of amateur music in Germany. They take place every year in a different federal state. With diverse and top-class concerts at various venues, the music and the people who make it are celebrated.

The original plan was to hold the series of events as early as March 2021 in Rheine. Unfortunately, due to Corona, this was not possible, so as a replacement, a multi-day music event was held in the summer of 2021 with the new format of Days of Amateur Music (TAMU). Now Rheine gets another chance to host the Days of Choral and Orchestral Music next year and hopes for the visit of the Federal President, who is expected to attend the traditional ceremony for the awarding of the Zelter and PRO MUSICA plaques.
