Rheine. Under the motto “grenzenlos!” the libraries of North Rhine-Westphalia invite you to the next “Night of the Libraries” on Friday, March 17. Every two years, around 200 libraries in North Rhine-Westphalia open their doors until late at night to offer a varied program and provide information about new services and media. Also Rheines city library is again with it.
Due to the temporary relocation of the municipal library to the former Toom DIY store, the “Night of the Libraries” will take place this time at Osnabrücker Straße 84. The program has it all. Because the “Night of the Libraries” starts in Rheine already at 15:20 o’clock with a special “night star hour” for the small guests starting from 4 years. It continues from 16 o’clock with a GreenScreen photo shooting for young and old. Everyone who wants to will pose in front of a green wall and will be cut live into a special background. So you suddenly find yourself in the Australian desert, on the film set of Harry Potter or in an enchanted forest. Everyone who takes part receives a free photo directly to take home.
The “singer and songwriter” Reidar Jensen, who comes from Norway, will take the stage at 6 pm. With his acoustic guitar, he will present, among other things, pieces from his current album “Boundless”. At 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., visitors will have the chance to take a look behind the scenes at the City Library during a guided tour. “Night owls” have the opportunity to borrow media such as books, magazines, DVDs or games until 10 p.m. and browse in a cozy atmosphere. The staff will also be happy to accept new registrations on site.
All events can be attended without registration. The program can be found on the city library’s website Rheine (www.Rheine-bibliothek.de) .
