Into the cool museum in summer

Cool museum rooms and new educational offers – the summer in the Rheine Municipal Museums will be varied and interesting. For the first time since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, the museums are once again publishing a printed program of events. It is valid until the end of September and is aimed at all generations. Participation offers for young families, vacation programs for children and young people, an exhibition of contemporary art or the “Bentlager Summer Evening” are on the program, for example. Everything revolves around exciting encounters with important works of art and historical objects. And often the town history of Rheine comes alive in the process.

Among the new offerings are the themed tours for adults in the Falkenhof Museum, which start this Thursday, June 30 at 4 pm. There are six different themes in all, so there are also six dates with enough time scheduled to explore the Falkenhof from the vaulted cellar to the attic. In contrast to the usual guided tours through the entire house, the themed tours convey a more in-depth knowledge of individual objects and their special history in a relaxed manner. Kicking off on Thursday, the joint tour with tour guide Marianne Probst will focus on religious art in the Falkenhof collection, in particular the altar of St. Dionysius, the Meiering family of sculptors, and a friendly smiling saint. Participation in the themed tour costs € 5, a transferable 4-person ticket is available for € 16 at the museum box office. With it, for example, two girlfriends can participate in two themed tours. Admission to the museum is free.

The program flyer is available at the known distribution points in Rheine: Falkenhof Museum, Bentlage Monastery, RTV and City Library, as well as on weekends (Sat-Sun 2 – 6 pm) also in the Salzsiedehaus. The offers are always up to date and can be viewed at www.rheine.de/falkenhof. For further information, the visitor’s office of the Rheine Municipal Museums can be reached at 05971 – 920610.
