The SPD in Rheine mourns the death of Günter Löcken, a long-time member of its local association. He joined the SPD in 1979 and was still honored for his 40 years of membership in 2019. Between 1984 and 2014, Löcken stood up for the interests of the people in Rheine as a member of the city council. In particular, the areas of construction, urban development or the municipal utilities were close to his heart. He was committed to improving the quality of life and housing in Rheine. Important for him as a Hauenhorst resident was also the connection of the outlying districts to the city bus service or the expansion of shopping facilities. For many years, he was the SPD’s spokesman on building policy. As treasurer of the SPD local association or as managing director of the SPD parliamentary group, he energetically helped organize the party and parliamentary group work. Now he has died at the age of 75. The SPD local association and the SPD parliamentary group mourn with the family.
